Profile

Setting

Yejun, Noah, Bamby, Eunho and Hamin have come from the virtual world of Caelum, and have been given special abilities by a developer from Terra (Earth). In order to communicate with fans from Terra, they travel to Asterum, which is a space in between the two worlds. The group's name is a combination of the English word "Play" and the French word "Rêve", and has the meaning of "creating a new world to achieve one's dreams".

The members call themselves "aliens" (외계인, wegyein), and Caelum and Asterum are often referred to as "planets" by some news outlets.

Anecdotes

  • The CEO of VLAST is nicknamed "William", and the members call him by this name instead of using a formal title.
  • PLAVE was formed out of a phone call by Yejun: Yejun called his friend Noah, asking him if he wanted to start the group with him. He later contacted Eunho, then Eunho in turn brought along his friend Bamby; finally, Noah called Hamin.
  • Each one of the members has a special ability: Yejun can control water, Noah can use magic, Eunho can control fire, Bamby's power is light, and Hamin is able to generate binary code.
  • They are infamous for glitching in their livestreams.
  • During the members' first live broadcasts, there were so many few viewers, so VLAST's staff themselves left comments on them.
  • Originally, PLAVE was intended to be a vocal-only group, but Bamby convinced the others to add choreography to their songs.
    • For their debut song, "Wait For You", VLAST hired a choreographer to create a dance for the song, but what they got wasn't at the level of a K-pop performance. So Hamin gathered some of his friends to create a choreography draft video.
    • Yejun, Noah and Eunho are known as the "Producer Line", as they are mostly in charge of composing songs for the group. Likewise, Bamby and Hamin are known as the "Dance Line", since they create choreography for most of their songs. Because of this, they became known as "self-producing idols".
