Dark Lugiel is a character in the Ultraman Series created by Tsuburaya Productions. He is the main antagonist of Ultraman Ginga.
His first appearance was in the episode "Your Future" (きみの未来)
Introduction
He and Ultraman Ginga were originally one being.
A dark demon who is hostile to Ginga, a dark being with an evil will. A long time ago, Ginga and Dark Lugiel had a disagreement over the concept of "eternal life", causing the two to part ways. Ginga supported the idea that life is in a continuous cycle, while Lugiel denied Ginga's view, in favor of stopping time for all life and allowing it to indulge in eternal bliss, creating a world free from hatred, struggle, and sorrow. In order to implement his own theory, Dark Lugiel traveled back to the past to launch the Dark Spark War. During the war, he used the Dark Spark fluctuations that stopped the time of all living things to turn all Ultras, monsters and aliens into Spark Dolls. Later, in the battle with Ginga, who suddenly appeared, both sides were injured, and both parties went into a state of sleep due to exhausting their power.
All the dolls turned into meteors and landed on Earth.
Meanwhile, Dark Lugiel hid the Dark Spark and possessed the teacher Kyoko Shirai, using his agents on the earth to continue to absorb the negative energy of the Earth, produced by despair and fear, to be finally resurrected. The fateful battle with Ultraman Ginga once again begins.

- The design concept of Dark Lugiel is "Evil Ginga". His cross-shaped red eyes were inspired by clown makeup. Dark Lugiel is meant to be a Giant of Darkness, or "Shadow", which conflicts with Ginga who represents "Light" ,and the existence of the galaxy itself, which eventually led to division due to the conflict of ideas.

Story
He went back to the distant past and use the ability of the dark spark to turn all the monsters, aliens and Ultra Warriors into Spark Dolls, and then fought with Ginga, causing both sides to suffer. The Dark Sparks was scattered on the earth with the Spark Dolls turning into meteors.
He came to the earth to be possessed by the headmaster Shirai who accidentally picked up the Dark Spark, and hid his identity, and without her knowledge, he used Furuhoshi Elementary School as a nest, and collected a large number of Spark Dolls in the headmaster's room. Used the power of the Dark Spark to liberate the cosmic people sealed in the spark puppets to carry out dark agency activities, materialize the Ultraman and monster's Dark Spark Dolls, and created a strong space distortion above the school in Furuhoshi Town, connecting the school with the outside world. He was isolated, and was temporarily blocked by the grandfather of Hikaru.

He manipulated the consciousness of Principal Shirai to knock down everyone in the school.
