Father of Ultra, real name Ken, is a character in the Ultra Series, created by Tsuburaya Productions.
His first appearance was in the Ultraman Ace episode "Miracle! The Father of Ultra" (奇迹！ウルトラの父)
Introduction
The Father of Ultra is the captain of the Inter Galactic Defense Force, and also its founder. He is a warrior who had fought in the Great Ultra War, and is respected by everyone.
In the 27th episode of Ultraman Ace, he flew a long way to Earth to save the five Ultra Brothers, who were turned into sculptures by Alien Hippolit. Due to the fatigue of long-distance flying, he was quickly exhausted during the battle, but before he fell, he took his Color Timer and threw it into the air, emitting a red light which revived Ultraman Ace. Full of anger, Ace defeated Hippolit and threw his own Color Timer into the air, freeing the four brothers, who brought the Father of Ultra back to space. Later, in episode 38, he was disguised as Santa Claus. After Ultraman Ace ended, he returned to the Land of Light, and occasionally helped some Ultra Warriors in distress.
Details
- The horns on his head are passed down through generations in his family. They can be used to receive information from space or to absorb and release energy.
- He is one of the few Ultramen with a beard/sideburns. Only Ultramen who are 40,000 years old or more can grow beards. Among them, only Ultraman King, Ultraman Chuck, and Ultraman Belial (before becoming evil) have beards.
- His punches can crush asteroids 100 kilometers in diameter.
- 30,000 years ago, during the Great Ultra War, he fought against Alien Empera, absorbed all the Ultramen's energy inside the Plasma Spark Tower, and forged the Ultra Sword, a powerful weapon, to defeat him. However, he suffered serious injuries that were incurable.
- His real name is Ken. In the movie Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy Legends, when Mirai (Ultraman Mebius) was telling Rei the history of the Land of Light, Mother of Ultra can be heard calling him Ken.
- According to his description in the novel Ultraman: Story 0, he has an older brother named Jack (not to be confused with Ultraman Jack). Because Jack believed the Inter Galactic Defense Force was being too loose, he left the Land of Light and established a new organization. This organization was famous for using violence. Jack's army was fighting with the original Inter Galactic Defense Force, detonating the Ultra Civil Wars. In the end, Jack lost to the Defense Force, and was killed due Ultraseven's Eye Slugger attack and Zeperion Ray.
